What we recommend to our guests after many summers on San Juan Beach: where to swim, what to see in Alicante, the festivals not to miss and the best day trips.

Festivals
The Hogueras de San Juan (20–24 June) are Alicante's great festival: monuments in the streets, midday mascletà firework displays in Plaza de los Luceros and the Cremà on the night of the 24th. On Midsummer Night itself the beach fills with bonfires and celebrations. Book early: these are the most sought-after dates.
